The 2014 NTC has just finished after a week of games against other Institute’s teams from across Australia. The ACT team was made up of 1999 born players and a number of talented 2000 and 2001 players. The ACTAS team included two Belconnen United Players – Tom Adamson & Bul Juach.
It was also good to see ex Belnorth players participating in the same team: Ben Obst & Leus Romeo, both performing strongly and will be part of the 2015 ACTAS team as full scholarship holders.
Each year, all states are represented at the NTC trials which are held at the AIS in the first week of December. The purpose of these trials is for the AIS and A-League coaches to see the best players from around Australia prior to selecting 1999 born players, to join or train with the current 1998 born Joeys playing in the Centre of Excellence team in the Men’s Premier League here in Canberra.
This year, Tom Adamson (previously from Belwest U6s – U11s, and Belnorth U12s) was named in the 2014 Australian ‘NTC All-Stars’ team, earning the #11 starting position as a result of his strong performance during the trials. It is also worth noting that Tom performed strongly in the 2013 and 2014 National Championships in Coffs Harbour, being recognised for his strong work ethics and game awareness by a number of coaches here the ACT and by the current AIS coaching staff.
The club wishes Tom the very best in his football career and hopefully we will see Tom playing in the A-League or representing Australia at the highest level of football in the very near future.
