After a long week of football, the U16 boys came close to playing in the 16 Cup final, only to fall short in the semi finals against Port Kembla, who won the game 2 – 1, with BUFC fielding only 9 players as a result of 2 red cards.
The week started off well with games 1 and 2 finding the boys winning (6-0) against Trinity Grammar and (3-0) against International Football School.
The following few days, we saw a tough game against ACTAS, going down (0-2) with Mitch Craig receiving a red card. Ricci James-Ward backed up as the keeper for the remainder of the match but was scored on twice on a rough pitch at Mawson. The Wednesday game saw the boys move up a notch, but again going down (0-1) to a kick and chase team in Port Kembla at Harrison.
On Thursday, we found ourselves at Kaleen enclosed where we played our Gungahlin neighbours to determine the final placings of the CUP. It was a one sided affair as the BUFC boys took aim at our opposition disposing them by (3-0) in a one sided game.
The Semi Finals saw BUFC play Port Kembla and ACTAS play Gungahlin United. It would be ACTAS moving forward after a (3-0) win and Port Kembla as their Final opposition on Friday.
